		Kuwait & Middle East Financial Investment Company (KMEFIC), a leading asset management and financial services company was established in January 1984 by the Bank of Kuwait and the Middle East (BKME) and the Public Institute for Social Security. In 1987 BKME took full ownership of KMEFIC before listing it on the Kuwait Stock Exchange in July 1997. In 2005, Ahli United Bank acquired a 10% stake in KMEFIC while BKME maintained a 48% interest. Following the acquisition of a c. 75% stake in BKME in August 2005, AUB now has a 48% stake in KMEFIC. KMEFIC provides a range of Corporate Finance and Treasury services including investment funds and online trading services. Its operations cover Kuwait, Oman, Bahrain and Dubai.
