		In November 2007, Ahli United Bank acquired a 35% stake in Alliance Housing Bank SAOG, a specialized mortgage finance provider in the Sultanate of Oman through its full subscription of AHB’s capital increase. AUB acquired a total of 113 million common shares for a total consideration of OR 50.9 million. Together with acquiring the stake, AUB also signed an agreement for management control of the Bank for 5 years. Following the acquisition, Alliance Housing Bank was renamed Ahli Bank SAOG and received approval from the regulatory bodies to convert to a full-fledged commercial bank.
