AHLI UNITED BANK SUPPORTS DIABETES CAUSE

As part of the Bank’s outreach program, Ahli United Bank has donated BD 5,000 to the Bahrain Society for Women Development (BSWD) in support of their charity event to benefit children with Type I diabetes. The event which is jointly organised by BSWD’s “ٍShajarah Tayeebah Committee”and Bahrain Diabetes society will be hosted at the Royal Golf Club on 9th March 2012.

At a ceremony held at the Society’s headquarters, Sheikha Hala bint Mohammed Al-Khalifa, Head of ‘All for Bahrain’ Campaign, BSWD, said:” We counted on AUB’s valuable support for this important initiative and we are happy and grateful to receive it. This event seeks to highlight the plight of children with diabetes, and the means to provide material and moral support for the children and their families in their daily battle with this disease. We will also be launching our “Sponsor a diabetic child” initiative as many need insulin pumps complete with all accessories and medication but can ill afford it on their own”.

Faiza Saeed, Head of Training and Development, AUB, commented: “We are proud to be associated with these much needed efforts which go a long way towards the alleviation of suffering and having a positive impact on the lives of many in the community. Such valiant initiatives have long term significance for the society as a whole as healthy, educated children are the cornerstone to any nation’s bright future”.
